Patrick Dempsey to Bid for Seattle's Tully's Coffee

Bringing holiday cheer to hundreds of workers, Patrick Dempsey announced on Wednesday (December 26) he would lead a bidding group to buy Tully's Coffee, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October.

The Seattle-based company is based in the same city that "Grey's Anatomy" is set, and McDreamy himself says he's eager to help save the jobs that would be lost if it goes under.

In a statement, the 46-year-old actor said, "I’ve always loved this city, and with the purchase of Tully’s Coffee, I plan to spend a lot of time in Seattle and at the stores connecting with the community and growing the Tully’s brand.”

Reinforcing his affection for the area and commitment to the project, he added, "It looks like Seattle may be my home away from home in the very near future."
