Taking a break from the grind of the campaign trail, President Barack Obama sat down to chat last night (October 24th) on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
The current president dished on various topics, including the current election season, his wife, and the first presidential debate, which took place in Denver, CO on October 3rd. Many political pundits said that presidential candidate Mitt Romney won the first debate; President Obama told Leno, “It plays different on the TV than when you’re on the stage, clearly I had a bad night."
When asked by the 62-year-old talk show host how he felt, President Obama said, with a smile, "I feel great. We started our 48-hour campaign extravaganza. We started in Iowa, went to Denver, we're here, we're going to Nevada, and then we will red eye to Florida."
The 51-year-old president was asked by Jay who he would be voting for, with the president saying, "Its a secret ballot, its a secret ballot. [My wife] Michelle told me she voted for me."
But the all important question Mr. Obama received came early in the interview, as Mr. Leno put the sitting president on the spot, asking, "You're going to Vegas, you're going to place a bet on the World Series? Who do you got?" The longtime Chicago White Sox fan responded, "Well, they are both great teams, San Francisco they came because they won and did the raditional White House visit. Detroit beat - they beat my White Sox out of a pennant, so they are an outstanding team. I will say that I spent a lot of time in Detroit lately, I didn't want to let Detroit go bankrupt. So in this particular World Series I may be a little partial."
Jay said, "What's this thing with Trump and you, its like with me and [David] Letterman?" Barack responded, "This all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya," receiving applause from both the crowd and Leno.
