Then, during an interview on Today, Jennifer Lopez hinted that she may not be returning. Then Steven Tyler officially announced his decision not to return. And now sources at Idol have leaked the news that Mariah Carey is close to inking a deal to come on board because show producers "think they need to freshen everything up now."
